Chocolateria San Churro: Main entrance
So we’re in the mood for a chocolate fix and there’s only one place I can think to visit. ‘Forget love, I’d rather fall in chocolate’ is written across our table at Chocolateria San Churro. The Leederville store is small, cosy and always busy when I’ve visited so we were lucky to find a table amongst fellow chocoholics. Oh yes, we were in chocolate heaven!
The menu ranges from coffee, hot and cold chocolate drinks, to chocolate truffles, cakes, ice cream and of course their well-known churros. We ordered the Churros for 2 ($13.95) which consisted of 6 churros and our choice of 2 dips; milk chocolate and dulce de leche. The churros were warm, crispy and freshly made with a hint of cinnamon sugar. Just perfect for dipping into the warm melted milk chocolate.

To drink, I chose The cold hot choc ($6.50) which is chilled spanish hot chocolate with a scoop of white chocolate icecream. It was so thick and rich I couldn’t finish it. The spoon provided made eating the icecream easier as it wasn’t going to melt!

My dining companion chose the Crema de fresa ($7.50) a milkshake of white chocolate, fresh strawberries and vanilla ice cream. They said it tasted divine and nice to have real strawberries for flavour instead of the usual artificial syrup.

There are 7 stores in WA and San Churros offers a loyalty program of 10% discount for frequenting chocoholics patrons. I’d definitely recommend a visit if you’ve not been before and take a friend to share your churros with!
