Located downstairs in Collins Place, ‘inoteca is a busy cafe offering customers a range of meals at reasonable prices, obviously popular with local workers queueing for their early morning caffeine hit. Conveniently located under the Sofitel hotel (where we were staying) we frequented a few times for breakfast like several other hotel guests and were impressed with the cheery service from staff.
We couldn’t go past the Breakfast Special ($9.90) which consisted of 2 eggs any way you like, toast, a choice of either bacon, tomato or mushroom and coffee and orange juice. I opted to have my eggs poached and they were just-cooked, the yolk running over my lightly toasted bread when cut through. I chose the crispy bacon and very generously was served 4 rashers.
I also ordered a Baked Beans and Toast ($5.50) for my son which he wolfed down rather quickly.
Overall I thought our breakfasts were simple, tasty and very filling. ‘inotecca also has a mouth-watering range of freshly baked pizza, pannini’s, wraps and pastas for lunch and is open Monday to Friday from 7am to 4pm for breakfast, lunch and coffee.
