Stalactites is a greek restaurant owned by the Konstandakopoulos family since 1978. Located on a corner in inner Melbourne it’s casual dining room has a roof decorated like stalactites. There is a long queue at the door, which is usually a good sign and after not too long a wait we are finally seated with our now big appetites. We notice it is quiet noisy inside and staff are friendly but very busy attending to so many diners that you have to fight to get their attention at times.
The menu is typical greek cuisine so we order some Hommus $6 and Pita Bread $1.70 to start. The pita bread was warm and the hommus tasty. However our 2 year old decided he really liked it and wasn’t too keen on sharing the rest with us!

We both ordered Souvlaki $12.50 with extra cheese +$0.50. I had Lamb Fillet and my hubby Chicken Fillet. My lamb was a bit tough at times but the chicken was tender. However the salad was fresh and crisp in the warm pita. Overall I’s say it was just ok.
