The Angry Moose – street view
We’d been packing boxes all day ready for temporarily moving out of our house. We knew we had no energy to cook dinner so decided to go out and try The Angry Moose for dinner instead. It’s a newish BYO burger cafe where all the burgers are served on a ciabatta roll from Lawley Bakery and the meat is supplied by Mondo Butchers. Sounds pretty good to me so far! They do not use any artificial preservatives or addivitives and the chicken and eggs are free range too.
Inside it’s a combination of open brick, painted walls, sofas, tables and chairs and bar tables and stools. There are also 2 large TV screens – one showing kids cartoons and the other sport (which I noticed most males frequently glancing at!) You can even hold your child’s birthday party here. We find a table and glance through the menu. There is a range of beef, chicken and lamb burgers with Salmon and Pork making a feature too. Vegetarian and no bread burgers are also on the menu along with a children’s menu and a few other options if you don’t like burgers. Dessert is simply il gelato ice cream.

I decided to try BELT the Moose $14, with a Beef Pattie, Bacon, free range Egg and Caramelized Onion. It came served on a wooden board with my side of Chips $3. The beef pattie was very juicy, the bacon had a strong flavour and the onions were sweet. I’d consider it ok, not the best I’ve had and definitely not the worst. The chips served in a mini deep fryer basket, had crispy outers and soft fluffy middles.

My hubby chose The Angry Moose $12 with a Beef Pattie, Green Tomato Chutney and Emmental Cheese. It also came on a wooden board with Sweet Potato Chips $4. He really enjoyed his burger which was quite deceptively filling. Oh my goodness these chips were absolutely noshlicious. Crispy outers and sweet tasting soft potato inners. These were the best sweet potato chips I’ve ever had.

My son had a Mini Moose Deal $12, a mini Beef Burger , with Cheese, Lettuce and Tomato, a serve of Chips with Tomato Sauce, a Juice and a Scoop of Il Gelato Ice Cream, and we chose the chocolate flavour. He really enjoyed his meal. Even though he couldn’t finish all his burger he still had enough room to eat the icecream!

Overall we enjoyed our experience but it’s the sweet potato chips which would make me visit again.
