Ah-Meng Restaurant is located within Singapore Zoo. The restaurant is named after the late Orang Utan Ah Meng of which there are numerous photos of at the entrance. We had booked the zoo experience, ‘Jungle Breakfast with Wildlife’ which is held in the restaurant. Once entering the zoo it is recommended you make your way straight to the restaurant to ensure you have enough time to eat before the animals arrive.
For S$29 (adult) the buffet has a choice of breakfast options from fresh fruits and juices, cereals, yoghurts, standard hot breakfast choices (American and Asian), pastries and tea and coffee. There is plenty of seating but some seats are located in a better position for viewing the Orang Utans who slowly start to make their way into the restaurant around 9:30am.
For us the expereince of being that close to the Orang Utans was unforgettable. My son loved the whole experience and was even brave enough to hold a snake! Overall I don’t think it would matter too much what was served for breakfast as the animals definitely were the highlight. I highly recommend the expereience to anyone with a love of animals and those families with children.
