Lindt Cafe – street view

Lindt chocolate is a favourite of my hubby so a visit to the Lindt Cafe whilst on holiday in Melbourne was inevitable. It is perched on Collins street between a shoe shop and under a bridal shop (was interesting watching brides-to-be waltz around in gowns). The front of the store is a shop to purchase any Lindt chocolate product you may desire and up a few stairs towards the back is the cafe (which can also be entered off the side mall avoiding the stairs).

I ordered the Hot Chocolate $7 ($3 with the lunch special between 11am – 2pm which is a beverage for $3 with meal) which came with a jug of hot milk and a smaller jug of warm melted Lindt chocolate. It tasted like eating a melted lindt ball (you know when its been hot and the middle has melted?!) and was truly noshlicious. I was definitely in chocolate heaven!

We shared the Poached Chicken Schiacciata $9.50 served with herb and lemon mayo, cos lettuce and can be toasted which I regretted not choosing. It which was full of chicken and spinach leaves but the bread was a little dry and it would have been much nicer if toasted.

My hubby chose the Chocolate Milkshake $8 which although on the pricey side was well worth it. It was cold and very chocolatey, full of all the cream and icecream you’d expect too.

After our lunch we stumbled into the shop to purchase some Lindt balls to enjoy later that evening. The Lindt cafe is open 7 days a week from 9am. I’d love to visit another time to try one of their delicious sounding desserts.
