Little Cupcakes

After a morning of retail therapy, I can’t think of anything better than a chance to indulge in a sugar fix before heading out for round 2 of the shops in the afternoon. My friend Mara and I are on a girls weekend in Melbourne and we make our obligatory visit to Degraves St. We stumble across Little Cupcakes, a cute little cupcake shop and we decide to step inside. Their cupcakes came in 2 sizes and were very reasonably priced with at least 20 flavours to choose from.

We both decide to order some mini cupcakes and a coffee and rest our legs for a while. We were lucky enough to sit in the front window overlooking Degraves St and watch the world pass by. I chose a Mini Snickers Cupcake ($2.20) and a Mini Vanilla Cupcake ($2.20). Both were light and fluffy in texture. The snickers cupcake was chocolatey and was topped with a chunk of snickers with chopped nuts. The vanilla cupcake was more subtle in flavour and the icing was incredibly light.

My friend ordered a Mini Red Velvet Cupcake ($2.20) and a Mini St Patrick’s Day Cupcake ($2.20). On the plate together they looked rather Christmassy – red and green cake with stars and sparkly sprinkles. She said both cupcakes were also light and airy and she thoroughly enjoyed them.

Our coffees were really good too!
